From Ivy Lane Living, With Love

On certain occasions, I have a flair for the extra. #sorrynotsorry. So, when it comes to Valentine's Day, it's no surprise I start thinking about it while packing away my Christmas boxes. Is it a Hallmark holiday? A holiday single people can't enjoy? Get outta here with that!

Valentine's Day is a moment for you to pause and feel all the warm and fuzzies, whether that is for your partner, kiddos, friends, or yourself.

The start to 2022 has been a doozy, at least for us here at Ivy Lane. If we weren't impacted by the dreaded C-word, we were snowed in with no power and bored kids complaining about being virtual on a snow day. I invite you to lean in with me to make this holiday (I said it, it's a holiday!) a memorable one.

For Her/Him/We/Us

Ivy Lane Living: I've said it once, and I will say it again, Estelle Colored Glassware is gorgeous. We have all of the glass to make your blush-colored dreams come true. Champagne coupes, martini glasses, rock glasses, and stemless. (Blush not your color? We can order whatever your heart desires.)

Artwork and home decor is the gift that keeps on giving. If you need a "reason" to gift yourself something, now is a perfect time. We receive gorgeous new pieces weekly.

Helen Olivia Flowers: You haven't experienced the beauty of a floral arrangement if you haven't experienced Helen Olivia's flowers. Tall, short, red, pink, simple, or extravagant - Rachel and Charles Gang's team can do it all.

The Hive (and Yellow Jacket for him.): Shoes, clothes, jewelry, candles, sunglasses…. Elizabeth Todd has you covered from head to toe in this season's top looks, from running carpool to a cute date night at Landini Brothers.

The Littles

Monday's Child: They have the sweetest, most timeless outfits and gifts for the little people in your life. Whenever I am in a pinch for a last-minute gift outfit, I can always count on Maura and Tiffani to help me out.

Valentines

We love Callie Sweeney's original designs, and her new line of Valentines is precious. I have already purchased my stickers for Finleigh (9) and Brooks' (6) Valentine's! I am using "Hugs and Hisses" for Brooks' and placing a toy snake in a bag for each kiddo. For Finleigh, I am using "You Deserve a Treat" stickers to individually seal wrapped Pop-Its. (I know, sorry parents, another fidget!) If you order ahead, the process of assembling doesn't have to be overwhelming, and the kids love taking the lead in the experience! Call it lazy or genius, but I had Callie personalize our stickers, so the kids don't have to write their names 30 times each!

Crafting

A craft I do every year with the kids is easy (I promise, it is!) and so fun for the kiddos. All you need: petals (dry is best), sticky contact paper, and scissors. The trickiest part is unpeeling the contact paper. Once unpeeled, you place the petals inside and then seal them with the other side of the sticky contact paper. Viola! You have a bookmark or keepsake! Little mess or prep time needed! Throw a tablecloth on the table, add in some pink decor from Target, and you got yourself a little party! From my "Valentine Album" of years past:

A handmade card and "I love you" will never go out of style. You don't need to spend money to make this Valentine's Day special. But if you do, here's a little treat from us and a few of our favorite shops.
