Gathering Together

Tis the season to gather with family and friends! Next week, I'm headed down to Debordieu, South Carolina, with Pat and the boys to celebrate Thanksgiving with the extended Burchette clan, many of whom we haven't seen in more than two years due to the pandemic. It seems everyone is extra motivated this year to make sure that we are all gathered together. We'll all spend a few days down at the beach together for fishing, golfing, storytelling, and lots of very competitive game playing, and we can't wait for it. It's been too long since we've all been gathered together. Don't you worry, I'll be back in Alexandria in time for 6am Black Friday opening!

Because it's such a family-focused time of the year, we often have many customers come to the store in search of Christening outfits. It makes perfect sense – if the family is in town for the holiday, why not plan a Christening to coincide with the celebration. We sell Baptism gowns, bubbles, bonnets, and bibles for newborn babies and have helped many families figure out outfits for their two, three, and four-year-olds who weren't able to do a Christening last year because of COVID. We also have adorable outfits for the after-party, and we carry a small selection of little crosses, books, and inexpensive baby bracelets for gifts. I can't tell you how special it is to have someone tell you they purchased their Baptism gown at Monday's Child… 20, 30, even 40 years ago. We hear it all the time, and it never ceases to make me smile. It's an incredible tradition at Monday's Child - one that I feel blessed and fortunate to be able to continue for future generations.
