Men’s Shopping Night at The Hive: Beer, Bourbon, Cigars

When I decided to move The Shoe Hive into The Hive and give up our beachhead on South Fairfax Street, there was one thing that was holding me back: the courtyard. It’s truly a magical spot. One of the annual events that we hosted that made the place so magical was Men’s Night. It started thanks to my friend Chris Campagna and it’s always a fun night during the holiday season. Men – and men only – came to shop for the women in their lives while enjoying a firepit in the courtyard with bratwursts from the grill and bourbon, beer and maybe, a cigar. It truly was a unique and festive occasion every year, no matter the weather.

This year I wasn’t sure what to do; without the courtyard we can’t have our grill and fire pit. But since I’m not one to throw in the towel, I decided we had to still have a Men’s Night. This Thursday, December 12 from 5 pm to 8 pm send the men in your life in to do some holiday shopping.

If you’ve been eyeing something at the store, make sure you fill out a Wish List and leave the rest to us. We will reach out to the person who might be shopping for you and take it from there. Don’t forget to make sure the men know it’s at 315 Cameron Street this year. We won’t kick them outside like years past; we will instead let them stay warm inside. Since this has already been a colder than normal December, they may really appreciate that. And one thing that hasn’t changed at all – we’ll have top-shelf bourbon and scotch to make the shopping a pleasant experience. We hope to see them this Thursday – shopping for you!
