Spice Up That Jewelry Box Part 9: BuDhagirl

Thanks to the military, I have friends all over the country. They love sharing fun finds from their favorite local boutiques. One such find is a line of jewelry called BuDhaGirl. This jewelry, and in particular the All Weather Bangles (AWB), are peppered throughout the south. I have friends from Texas to South Carolina that are obsessed with these bangles. I love bringing new things to Alexandria, and I thought this line, and in particular, the AWBs would be perfect.

Founded in 2012 by Jessica Jesse, BuDhaGirl fills a unique niche in the market, a "place where mindfulness content and the pursuit of daily wellbeing coexists with fashion." She was inspired to create the line after a "transformational experience" in Thailand, where she was gifted gold bangles by Thai monks. BuDhaGirl is "A lifestyle brand that creates wellbeing by combining contemplative practice validated by science with incredibly glamorous fashion."

Each bangle is handcrafted in Thailand and is made of flexible polycarbonate vinyl medical grade tubing. Then, each bangle is filled with gold or silver leaf using non-synthetic oil. Their natural brass prayer beads seal the AWB. The brass is uncoated and, with time, will develop a verdi-gris patina. These bracelets are seriously amazing: waterproof, soundless, weightless, and TSA proof. You can wear as many or as little as you and mix and match. Bonus?
