What I know from years and years of costume design - is that accessories and beauty hold such a magical power to transform an outfit. We don’t always need to go out and buy a new dress or outfit for every party. When you have something you already love, wear it! The easiest way to make it new? Add an accessory, then change your hair and makeup.

We are incredibly grateful for the women in our lives – and appreciate every minute we get to spend with them while they are already juggling so many things! Giving them an unexpected, thoughtful present is just one way to share our love this holiday season.

I wandered into AIP when it first reopened. Alex greeted me and sold me one of the best swimsuits I’ve ever owned. I’d never seen anything like it and I’ve  never seen anyone with it. That’s the kind of boutique American in Paris is. She finds all sorts of cool unique pieces for the store while traveling the world. This women’s boutique is more than just a shop—it’s a vibe.

I’ve been gushing over wool and knits from Argentinian makers since last fall when we brought hand-knit wool sweaters to American In Paris. We couldn’t help but notice that lately, this voluminous, textural style seems to be popping up even more. The Fall 24 runways boasted texture, fringe, and volume.

With chlorine, sun and salt water no longer wreaking havoc on our manicures, we’re all in for rocking some new nail looks this fall. Our hands are an extension of our daily look/vibe/mood and keep us feeling polished (pun intended) during the fall madness. While we’ve been out and about in Old Town, we couldn’t help but notice the vast range of shades and styles displayed on our friends’ hands. So we asked our contributors to share the fall hues they’re loving:

If you’ve seen me bopping around Old Town, chances are you’ve seen me wearing - or even asked about - my boots. Black leather, zip straight up the back, and a snap enclosure. They fit like a glove, because they were custom fitted to me. After much convincing, we were able to convince both La Casa de Las Botas and Antonio Vicario to bring these boots to American in Paris.

Boots in summer? Why not? White after labor day? Yes - all year round!  I’ve never been one to play by fashion rules. Why should seasons be any different?  Instead of storing away your favorite items, consider extending their wearability. 

August is always a time of such transition when it comes to summer and style. Don’t get us wrong, we love fall, but can we slow it down a bit? We still have one more month left—of beaches, pools, and travel. Of light layers, breezy fabrics, swimsuits and cover ups and, if you’re like us, an assortment of sunglasses to choose from.

While we commonly see celebs sharing what’s in their purse – we prefer to know what’s in the bag you’re toting to the pool and beach, because we inevitably always forget something! So we asked our contributors to share what’s stowed in theirs.

While trends don’t drive our purchasing decisions, I find that we consistently end up carrying items that are both on-trend and have the ability to be timeless. Here are four Summer 2024 trends that we think make a good wardrobe investment — for now and forever.

For a most special commemorative item, consider a custom lacquer clutch with your new name, initials, or perhaps his & hers crystal appliques. These clutches were inspired by the jewel box handbags of the 1950s, so beautiful they double as art when perched tabletop.
