Why We’re Loving Rachel Comey (Especially the Shoes!)

Rachel Comey has been a brand I’ve admired since the day we opened The Hive. It didn’t catch on right away, but I stayed persistent—and I’m thrilled to see its popularity steadily growing. While most people know Comey for her distinctive clothing, it’s really the Fond sweatshirt and XX pants that have become quiet cult favorites among fashion lovers. Madeline and I still wear our Fond sweatshirts from our 301 Cameron days on repeat.

But here’s the twist: what’s truly taken off for us are the shoes.

We just unpacked our pre-fall delivery, and this time, we made sure to stock up on footwear. The first Rachel Comey shoe that really made waves was a clog, followed by a beloved bootie that we carried in multiple colors. Since then, the collection has only gotten stronger, and we’re here for all of it.

The Bose Wrapped Clog gives me major nostalgia. It reminds me of that first iconic pair—cool, comfortable, and easy to slip on. For those looking for a bit of lift without sacrificing comfort, the Cove Wedge is a fantastic low-heel option and will transition beautifully into fall.

Then there’s my personal favorite: the Everleigh Ballet, now available in gold! I wear the nude version constantly, so naturally, I need the gold too. And finally, the Edgoss Heel in gold is the perfect strappy sandal. It’s elegant, understated, and ideal for weddings or evenings out. Truthfully, I ordered it for selfish reasons—after years of trying to hang onto my worn-out Aerin Lauder heels, I knew it was time for a stylish upgrade.

Come shop our newest arrivals from Rachel Comey—including some fantastic ready-to-wear pieces, too. We think you’ll find something to love.

Owner | The Shoe Hive/The Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
