The Wait Is Over: Ampersand As Apostrophe

The supply chain crunch is real. You may think it’s easing and normalcy is returning, but take my word for it - it’s still real. We have some great new bags that I’ve been waiting for a year for you to see. Literally. I just looked back in my emails to see what day I actually placed this order and found the emailed order: October 2021 was the date. Yes, these bags were ordered nine months ago. Originally, we were supposed to get them in March, but delay after delay after delay happened, and well, finally, they are here.

Clearly, we must really like the bags to be this patient. We received our first shipment about a year ago. Katie of Mint Condition sent me an image of a bag and said she thought we should carry them. Of course, she was right, they flew out, and we have been ready to have them back in ever since.

If you want to read more about the brand and the founder, Jessica Park, there is a great article about how she came up with the brand and her struggles to keep it going. Persistence was her key which I thought was fitting since I am the exact same way.

Ampersand as Apostrophe is just a well-decided bag. Like I have said before, I am not one for logos. I like form and function and something not everyone else is carrying. These fit all those criteria and have great colors. Of course, I love the green, as you could have predicted. I have a thing for green accessories; I have come to admit it as I clean out my closet. But they are all great, and the three different shapes, the micro tote, the half tote, and the sideways tote, accommodate any purse need. I am a fan of the sideway style because I like to haul around a laptop, so it works for me.

Stop in The Shoe Hive to see our great selection. They are even prettier in person. I promise they were worth the wait.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
